For quite some time (which is certainly an understatement!) I've been trying to finish my story about Hornz the Cow. I admit that I am very perfectionistic when it comes to finishing creative projects, which on a creative level doesn't help me out very much. A finished rough draft is far better than having nothing but a bunch of random ideas! It doesn't matter how good those ideas are if I'm not going to use them in a meaningful way.
As such, I'm really trying to focus on completing this story as I think Hornz is one of my best characters and his story is quite whimsical. He's been patiently waiting for his turn in the limelight so I feel like I owe it to him, and all of my other puppets, to get my act together. It's challenging because I have this idea in my head for how epic I want his story arc to be, and I really want to capture that in how I present him and all of the related characters involved in this story. This also happens to be one chapter in the ongoing adventures of Gordon the Sea Monster and Mr. Fishy! So I'm giving myself two months, until the end of May, to get this done! Otherwise, I think my puppets might hold a mutiny against me, or something of than nature! Frankly, I wouldn't blame them, they deserve far more attention than I've been giving them.
I'm not sure yet how I'm going to be presenting the story once it's done, ideally I'd like to do a puppet show of some sort but there are so many characters involved that I don't know how to get it done as a one man show. So for now, I'm just thinking about finishing this as a storybook that I'll be illustrating. I can always come back to doing the puppetry version of the story later on. It really would be an awesome puppet show to do if I can ever figure it out!
